Copper
Copper is a living metal. With wear it slowly deepens from bright rose to warm brown, and hand-applied verdigris (the blue-green patina on some pieces) will continue to shift.
- Take it off before swimming, showering or exercising.
- Store it in the pouch it came in to slow oxidation.
- To restore shine, polish with a soft cloth. A little lemon juice and salt brightens bare copper. Don't use this on verdigris pieces, because it will remove the patina.
- Copper can leave a harmless green mark on some skin. A thin coat of clear nail polish on the inside of a ring or cuff prevents it.
Adjustable rings & cuffs
Open rings and cuffs can be gently adjusted. Bend slowly and only a little at a time, and avoid opening and closing them repeatedly in the same spot.
Ebony wood
Ebony is dense and naturally oily. Keep it dry and away from perfume. If it looks dull, rub in a drop of plant oil (olive or jojoba) and buff with a soft cloth.
Stone & beads
Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Keep away from harsh chemicals and store separately from metal pieces to avoid scratches.
